We enjoyed a lovely morning there while we took turns walking out into the shallows with Chalotte. It was wonderful to look for fish, jellyfish and shells while we enjoyed the shallows which extend far out into the sound.
Then we realized that around some bushes on the same tiny little beach there was a most unusual sight.
As mikey said, "Gradual burial at sea." Note Ken is standing at the fence...
Sadly, bit by bit, the cemetery is being claimed by the sea.
This was sobering to say the least! We prayed for the deceased, and I was reluctant to revisit the beach until our last day there, during which we dropped by on a walk.
A family was enjoying the beach and we arrived, ironically, just when the 10 or 12 year old son was trying to get up after being buried up to his neck by the rest of the family. There was much laughter as he struggled to get out and grandma said, "I hope you don't leave your pants in there!" Followed by more laughter....
