So, and pictures don't lie, it is clear what a super-athelete Ken is!
Even the sparrow finds a nest in which she puts her young, near to your altars, Lord Mighty God!

The 5k run
Last November Pat called us with a Christmas gift idea he had for Teresa--that we would all run in a 5k together, since that was something that tee had always wanted.
It would be an easy race, he said, a FunRun (emphasis fun) at the Manassas Airport (emphasis flat) and not until the end of April (far enough away) -- so we said Sure!
The weeks went by with minimal training....
a one mile jog in the past 2 1/2 years....
a one mile jog in the past 2 1/2 years....
Until the fateful morning arrived...this morning....
Ken and I put on our race tshirts
And
It was chilly this morning, so after adding some additional layers, we finally felt ready and excited to begin.
Anticipation was high as we drove into the airport
And parked out on the edge of the Tarmac
We met up with tee and pat
And proceeded to the beginning of the race with about 600+ runners of every description.
I began the race with happy tunes in the earbuds, but unfortunately the phone batteries died 2 songs later, and I wondered how much longer my own batteries would last.
People watching is always fun, but everyone had their back to me.
I knew it was important to keep focused on the race...
And avoid distractions....
Like how I was feeling......
Up ahead we knew that tee and pat were finishing the race like super heroes
And negative and irrational thoughts sometimes came to mind....
But finish we finally did! Praise God!
I believe Patrick has some 'after' pictures of the race, which I will add to the blog later assuming Ken and I don't look like we have just finished a Zombie 5k.
All in all, what a blessing!
