Campfire on the beach

Mikey very graciously planned one of the most memorable and enjoyable evenings we had at the beach: a wonderful campfire with hot dogs, corn, s'mores and twinkies to roast over the flickering campfire burning on the beach.  I'd like to add more pictures to this post that hopefully captured the loveliness of the evening.  It was so beautiful! I only took a few pictures, and none of the campfire itself.

I believe these are called ghost crabs.  There are crab dens all over the sand and sand crabs of all sizes creep out as dusk begins to fall.

It was a grand time, or does it look a little like we are all in pain...

You can see the paddle board game in progress on the left, and the sand play in progress on the right.

Maybe Daniel was dozing at this point.... :-)

The chairs were grouped in a circle around the campfire.

Sebastian loved playing with, throwing and eating sand---the outer banks was his very own personal miles long sand box.
