Chincoteague

The day after Thanksgiving John, Jeanne, Peter, Ken and I went to Chincoteague

The wild horses were constantly foraging, and we saw them frequently...

each of them as round as a barrel and eating enthusiastically!

Jeanne enjoyed feeding the seagulls.

a typical scene...oh, it was lovely!

sunrise on Saturday

a loon!

typically, snow geese congregate in the hundreds of thousands this time of year at Chincoteague,
but sadly, not this year.

we did find this flock of a few hundred.

it was such a pretty time!!!

just love this picture!

and during the football 'game'....

Jeanne got back to 'concessions'

we counted at least 3 different species of sea gulls

....some had black legs, some had pink legs, and some had yellow legs!

it was a delight to see these two dive under and then swim to get their dinner--they are so fluid in their movements!

this little darling was completely unafraid and very sociable!  quite a cheeky representative of the island.

It was such a blessed, grace filled time!

Thanks be to God in His Mercy!

What wonderful pictures!! It makes me want to go to Chincoteague so much. I had to smile at how that horse really looks like he is trying desperately to kiss Jeanne!! And I love seeing all the different birds (especially the snow geese). Jeanne really looks like she is laughing and sharing a hilarious story with the seagulls :)
