We enjoyed the cooler weather and chance to escape the heat wave in Manassas.
Betty, Bill and Lucy surprised us with a wonderful visit on Sunday morning. We went on a hike through the campground during which Betty noticed several apple trees loaded with fruit. During an impromptu lunch in the camper we sampled several of the apples which Bill and Ken were able to knock out of the trees. They were delicious and worm free. Later Betty and Bill talked to someone who told them that the entire area had once been an apple orchard!
Most unusual sight: a tent on a car... No need to worry about intruders, esp. If you can bring the ladder up when you go to bed!
This is the view from the campground amphitheater--also the only spot with (Verizon) cell phone coverage for miles abound.
We had a wonderful, blessed time, and enjoyed seeing the Wittmans so very much!

What an interesting story about the apples, and how great that the Wittman's came up to visit, sounds so fun! The view is beautiful, do you think a stroller could do that hike?
