Rapunzel, on the loose!

Last year,
when Laura was expecting Charlotte,
we were walking in Mrs. Bloomer's neighborhood
when we spotted
some little plants growing in the gravel
by the side of the road.

Thinking of the
fairytale in which an expectant mother
is longing for the neighbor's plants,
we gathered a very tiny bit of it
and named it rapunzel.

It did well last year,
and even better over the winter,
because it is now growing in every direction it can think of!

if it grows between bricks like these it will grow anywhere.....

we are planning to plant it in those difficult areas where nothing will grow except weeds!

Today Ken took out the plum tree stump up on the left corner of the yard that we call Tepeyac Hill.

He was pleased with how rich the soil looks, and we are thinking

of planting melons, pumpkins, squash, or sunflowers.....

fun to think about for a few weeks before the last frost date arrives

and the seeds go in!
