Last summer, i found a bright and cheerful plaid flannel men's shirt at a thrift store that was too small (men's medium) for the scarecrow. so, here it is, in it's latest incarnation on a little scare crow:
The pockets, which were the front pockets on the original shirt, are
a little too high, and will be lowered. the free pattern came from this blog . it is about size 18months.
A men's dress shirt in a light blue or other pastel (and hopefully wrinkle free) would make a wonderful summer dress, especially with a little bird appliqué on the front. For anyone larger than 18 months, the original shirt should be large or XL so it is long enough…this dress has a 1/8th inch hem. :-)
the flannel is soft for winter, and can be teamed with different colored shirts and tights.
Just finished this dress for Kateri same pattern
the bodice is lined with a contrasting fabric,
and the 'silver' buttons came from falcons landing thrift store.
