A grand-napping!

Recently two grands nabbed one grand:

For a little adventure!

First the park...it was a bit chilly so a quick walk was in order!

Chick fila next-- we all had chicken nuggets and then played a card game called Sneaky Snacky that came with the kids meal...Kateri won, hands down!  Mormie and I were good sports. :)

Followed by a Popsicle at Mormie's....

And a tour of her garden...Kateri would have enjoyed delving into the sandbox, but that is better saved for a day without princess attire.

When the popsicle was finished,  we explored a model home:

kateri's beautiful dress and shoes were exquisite...and her shoes clattered in a satisfying way with every step!

Inspecting the kitchen..and making herself at home...

The sofa met with approval, though kateri's stay was brief ---we didn't want to leave a dusting of glitter!

The screened porch has a lovely view and Kateri commented that this would be a fun place for Kia to play.

Exploring the bedrooms

And bathrooms

Right at home in this bedroom, thank you very much!

Soon it was time to take Kateri home, but it was a blessed and delightful afternoon!

Odds and ends...

Teresa sent this picture of Kia earlier this week--love the pig tails!

James enjoyed talking with uncle Peter

and  grand papa

Mouse project -- a few more to go!

Ken and I went to an RV show and yes, you read that price correctly!  Here are some pictures from the inside of this monstrosity unit:

The kitchen (quite a fridge, there!....also quite a floor, quite a sink, microwave, stove etc etc)

Bathroom

TV.....and fireplace below it

Bedroom with ceiling fan -- of course supplementing the a/c.

Drivers seat for the happy soul in charge of filling the gas tank.

Outdoor tv... The top half shaded by the awning....There were 4 tv's with the RV...!

This proves you can get away from it all (camping) and bring it all with you--- all at the same time!

Everyone pitched in to bathe Kia--danny was quickly distracted by the interesting faucet

As Lent approaches....

Lent is a little bit like an opportunity to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail...

Your first thought is how long it is....

and potential difficulties along the way....

but whether you've planned well or not

Ash Wednesday arrives

and the journey begins.....

the blaze we will follow is purple.

we are all in this together, it's true....

but our path is single file.....

with our Lord by our side...

whatever each day brings.

Thru-hikers face challenges along the way

but one of their frequent battles are with the numerous hungry mice in every sleep shelter...

trail food must be hung from the rafters

but the mice leap from above and try to get the food anyway.

i'm sure we will face a few mice during Lent, too, nibbling away at our desire to persevere.

but the ultimate goal is to draw close to Christ.

Thru-hikers get a trail name by which they are known--names like
Stretch
No-hear-um
Bear bait
Nova
Tipperary
Grey Squirrel
...

In Heaven the thru-hiker receives a stone with his name on it.
I guess we will learn our trail name then!

Visiting the Greats

Jamie and Nano exchanging pleasantries...

Jamie received so much love on this his second visit to Falcons.

Jamie turned 8 weeks yesterday...

Nonie and Nano had some cuddle time with cc....who asked Nonie at one point, "why did you just call Nano "Rudy-San"? Nonie explained that it's a Japanese term of endearment.

Nonie-San and Nano-San were very sweet and served a mid morning snack of stewed apples and graham crackers (with Mormie's amazing wild blackberry jam).

Such a sweet picture!

Mormie enjoyed Jamie...

And visa versa!

Danny and Laura were there, too! I promise!

Soon it was time to go, but what a blessing for all of us!
